Return walk time 1hour and 15 minutes .
The Inchvore valley is a beautiful valley at the head of Lough Dan. This walk is ideal for Cubs and Beavers as it only takes about an hour to get there and a little more on the way back. At the end of the lake there is a fantasic beach for lunch while scouts and ventures might want to overnight at the small oak cops further up the Inchavore River or to go bouldering on the slopes of Knocknacloghoge Mountain.
From Lough Dan Scout Centre 0 156023 to end of road 0 148031. Turn right out of Lough Dan Scout Centre and continue all the way to the end of the paved road a distance of 1km, Height gained 50m, walk time assuming a pace of 3km per hour is about 25 minutes. It is a narrow country road so single file facing oncoming traffic.
From the end of the public road to get to the Inchavore Valley 0 133046 just climb the stile which is located just after you cross the bridge and follow the access pathway. This path contours at first and then descends into the Inchavore Valley. Distance 2km, height gained nil, walk time 40 minutes. This access route has kindly been put in by the local landowners so please respect them by keeping noise to a minimum and not dropping any litter.
To return just retrace your route. It will take slightly longer as it is more uphill. Leave No Trace.
