The newly refurbished house sits atop of the campsite and overlooks the lake and camping fields.

A fantastic place to stay in the long summer months, sitting on the patio beside the bbq in the evenings with the smell of campfire smoke in the air. Magical in the winter with fresh mornings and long nights. With some luck you might get some snow.

In order to cater as best we can for all group sizes and needs we have designed a flexible bookings system. Large groups of over 30 can book the entire hostel. They get the sole use of the entire hostel for the duration of their stay. Groups of less than 30 can book the  downstairs only part of the hostel and get the use of the kitchen, common room and leaders rooms. When booked like this downstairs is not shared by other groups. When booking the downstairs only option there is a minimum number requirement of 20 persons per night and you must book both nights on a weekend. The last option is to book upstairs only, (a cheaper option with no minimum number restrictions but it only accommodates 14) . This option gives you all the comfort of a hostel beds, toilets and showers while the more basic cooking/dining facilities are located in the Crean/Shackelton Hut across the yard.

Room break down:
Downstairs – 3 rooms with 8 beds, 1 room with 4 beds and 1 room with 2 beds. 4 toilets and 5 showers.Common room and leaders room. Fully Equipped Kitchen.

Upstairs – 2 rooms with 6 beds and 1 room with 2 beds. 2 toilets and 2 showers.

Groups using the hostel can avail of all the other campsite facilities such as self-lead on-site activities, campfire area, etc. Go to our page on “camping” or “activities” for more details.
