Tonelagee Mountain
Tonelagee is the third highest mountain in Wicklow. It is accessible from the campsite or better still drive around and start in the car park just above the Glenmacanass waterfall O 115 029
Follow the river to the sheep pens at the forest corner O 103 035 you can get here by using the river as a hand rail or by walking up the R115 road and then down to the sheep pens. Either way you should be able to cross the river at this point. When you have crossed to mthe west side of the Glenmacanass River find the river junction with Lough Brook and use this as a hand rail to get you all the way to Lough Ouler. At the lake outlet you can go either way around the lake to the summit via the small spot height 596 to the northwest or towards the col at O 093 018 between spot height 568 and the summit. From the contour detail you will notice that there is steep ground forming the head wall to the Lough Ouler corrie so be careful to keep a reasonable distance back from it. You will also notice that approaching the summit the contour spacing widens meaning the ground levels off and is indistinct as you approach the summit pillar. The return leg is by retracing your route along Lough Brook.
